About
Born in St. Paul and raised in Southern California. After several years living in Germany, working in fashion and studying art, returned to the Twin Cities to fully pursue art realized that my true home is California and always has been. Recently moved back to LA area during pandemic to grow more exposure for my work.
Create large-format portraits of well-known artists using modest materials. Much of my work often utilizes markers and crayons on recycled surfaces such as old paper and found cardboard. Like to works in a loose, but structured scribbled style that I coined "Skribblism" while on the surface it appears chaotic, when seen from a distance approaches a tightly controlled photorealism. By portraying these legendary figures with such modest materials, found in nearly any common household, I feel like it humanizes these larger-than-life figures and makes them obtainable. The portraits are a way of highlighting the rich contributions they've continued to make in our lives, on a human scale.
